🧭 Itinerario da Via Caffaro all’Acquario di Genova – tra scorci, sapori e meraviglie
Benvenuti a Genova! Se partite da Via Caffaro, siete nel cuore della città, immersi nella sua storia e nel fascino dei palazzi antichi. Prima tappa: superate la salita e cercate il grande arco. Sulla destra, sotto una scala metallica, troverete due porte: quella più grande conduce a un ascensore. Premete il numero 6, e vi troverete in cima al Ponte Caffaro.
📍 Una volta usciti, tenete la destra: davanti a voi un piccolo supermercato, proseguendo, sull’altro angolo troverete un Carrefour aperto fino alle 23.00, comodissimo per ogni esigenza. Subito dopo, eccola: la Spianata Castelletto, terrazza panoramica tra le più affascinanti di Genova. Qui il mare si mostra all’orizzonte e la città si apre sotto di voi. Foto obbligatorie!
🛗 Da lì, prendete il secondo ascensore che scende fino a Piazza Portello, praticamente all’inizio del percorso. Una breve camminata vi conduce in Piazza De Ferrari, fulcro della vita cittadina, con fontane scenografiche e palazzi monumentali. Proseguendo entrate in Via San Lorenzo, dove si trova l’imponente Cattedrale di San Lorenzo.
🍽️ Alla fine della via, sulla sinistra, vi consiglio con piacere una tappa genuina: Cavour 21, trattoria popolare per piatti tipici a prezzi onesti. Non mi conoscono — sono solo un cliente affezionato!
🎡 Poco più avanti, si arriva nel Porto Antico, zona vibrante e ricca di attrazioni. Non perdete il Bigo, ascensore panoramico con vista a 360°, e l’atmosfera del molo tra arte e installazioni suggestive.
🌊 Arrivo: Acquario di Genova Ecco la meta finale, tra le più amate d’Europa. L’Acquario ospita vasche spettacolari, animali marini di ogni tipo e un percorso educativo per adulti e bambini. È una passeggiata di circa 15 minuti in totale, ma il ricordo dura molto di più.

Welcome to Genoa! If you’re starting from Via Caffaro, you're in a quiet, central part of the city surrounded by historic buildings and local charm. Here's how to turn a simple walk into a discovery.
Begin by walking uphill until you reach a large arch. Just beyond it, on the right under a metal staircase, you’ll see two doors — the larger one takes you to an elevator. Press button 6, and it will bring you directly up to Ponte Caffaro.
🚶♂️ Once outside, follow the road to the right. You’ll spot a small supermarket, and just a few steps further, a Carrefour open until 11:00 PM . Across the street, there's a tobacconist, and just beyond: Spianata Castelletto, a stunning panoramic viewpoint offering a breathtaking view over Genoa and the sea — a perfect spot for photos and fresh air.
Take the second elevator down to Piazza Portello, the base of Via Caffaro. Cross the square and walk toward Piazza De Ferrari, one of Genoa’s grandest squares with striking fountains and beautiful architecture.
Stroll into Via San Lorenzo, where you can admire the Cathedral of San Lorenzo with its striped façade and historic interior. At the end of the street, on the left, you’ll find Cavour 21, a local trattoria loved for its traditional Genovese dishes at very fair prices. A personal recommendation — I’m just a regular guest who enjoys the food!
⛵️ Keep walking and you’ll soon enter the Old Port (Porto Antico). This lively area offers everything from cultural installations to the unique Bigo panoramic elevator with 360° views over the marina.
🌊 Finally, you’ll arrive at the Genoa Aquarium, one of Europe’s largest and most impressive marine exhibits — perfect for curious minds and sea lovers alike.
